The UAE (along with other GCC members) introduced an excise tax on selective goods, a VAT of 5% on the supply and import of goods and services. This policy paper examines the impact of the different Tax Policy Options on the UAE economy, capital flows, and financial markets. To achieve that several qualitative and quantitative policy analysis methods were carried out. For instance, Review of Existing Tax Policy Regimes in UAE, PESTEL Analysis, Pressure Analysis, Stakeholder Analysis, Logic Tree Analysis, and Benchmarking.
